Ciena is one of the world's largest providers of technology and hardware for networking digital information. They had a vision for creating a new atmosphere and experience in their 12 worldwide offices. Atmosphere, once again partnered with Hornall Anderson Design Works from Seattle for this global project. The creative ideation and the extensive content developed by HADW inspired Atmosphere’s design engineering, production and field service contributions. Part of the conceptual efforts addressed producing a specific look & feel in their facilities, while other aspects of the project involved elevating the “espirit de corps” among their global employees. The program covered many areas including lobbies, conference rooms, training centers, employee cafeterias and common areas where the Ciena message could be re-enforced for all to see. The Digital Experience and the KAON engagements are impressive interactive elements that serve to promote employee awareness and intense product details. The final addition to Ciena’s Interior program is the Patent Vortex sculpture, which resides in the five story lobby atrium of Ciena’s headquarters in Baltimore Maryland. This sculptural statement serves to present over five hundred Ciena patents in a whirlwind of printed polycarbonate plates, as well as featuring the “well of knowledge” at the base of the sculpture. This touch screen-driven well provides visitors with an opportunity to view any patent Ciena owns with touch and turn simplicity…art meets corporate messaging. Atmosphere provided design engineering and production for the various elements in the program, as well as providing turnkey services for deliveries and installations from New Delhi to Paris.
